BLACKPINK can't seem to stop breaking records left and right as its member Lisa Manoban recently became the first K-pop female artist to get 20 million followers on Instagram. And she did it in the space of one year since she started her IG page.
According to Soompi, the BLACKPINK rapper started Instagramming only in 2018 and was at 17.5 million followers just last month. As of this writing, Lisa has gained another 100,000 followers and is now being followed by 2.1 million Instagrammers.
Among Lisa's frequent posts include selfies, her travels and photos with other BLACKPINK members as they go about their scheduled activities. BLACKPINK's official IG page also enjoys a strong following with 18.9 million followers.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK continues to rule the charts at the Billboard World Album rankings as it maintained the 8th spot on the list. On its seventh week on the chart, the group's Kill This Love EP remains strong within the Top 10 although it slipped from last week's No. 7 position. Kill This Love peaked at the charts at #1, solidifying BLACKPINK's popularity in Korea and abroad.
BTS also joined BLACKPINK on the charts, nabbing the 2nd, third and fourth position with their songs Persona, Answer and Tear. GOT 7 took the 6th position with their EP, Spinning Top: Between Security and Insecurity. A.C.E's mini album "Under Cover" also entered the charts at #9.
BLACKPINK recently wrapped its world tour to sold out concerts in the US, Paris, and London where Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rose thoroughly rewarded themselves with a much-deserved tour of the city of love after their concert. Fans were happy to note that their favorite K-pop idols shared snaps of their tour via their Instagram accounts.
According to a report by Cosmopolitan, the snaps posted by Lisa and Rose with the Eiffel Tower as their backdrop earned thousands of likes in a matter of minutes. BLACKPINK's Jennie and Jisoo were not to be outdone because they also shared their versions of their break. Jennie posted a snap of their hotel room while Jisoo preferred to travel the quaint and charming streets of Paris to share the vibe with her followers and fans.
After wrapping up their world tour, BLACKPINK's Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rose are back to local activities as they are scheduled to appear on Stage K to judge four teams of contestants who will be performing dance covers of their hit songs. The episode airs on June 2 at 9 pm on JTBC.
