Read At Your Own Risk: This article may contain spoilers for Spider-Man Season 3.
Spider-Man has been very popular ever since it first appeared on television. Whether it may be a television series or a film, the iconic superhero never gets old.
Recently, Disney XD released an animated superhero series. Although this is not new, the first season of Marvel's Spider-Man that aired in 2017 was still able to catch the attention of many. And today, the fans are now wondering whether the show will get a new season from the network.
It is worth noting that the show is still ongoing as of the time being. But even if the second season is now halfway through, most of the fans are now asking if Disney will renew Spider-Man for Season 3.
Previously, there were only speculations about its renewal. But based on the general hunch, many are looking forward to having the third season of the show. And possibly receive it as soon as the second season concludes.
These are mostly the speculations about the show's status a few weeks ago. And it is only recently that Disney finally announced their ultimate decision about Spider-Man. As it appears, the show has been renewed for another season which will eventually air in 2020.
As for its plot, it is already established that the current season focuses on Doctor Octopus. This is actually because Spider-Man Season 2 is an adaptation of The Superior Spider-Man in comics. Hence, the speculated finale of the second season will show Doctor Octopus taking over Spider-Man's body. Meanwhile, Peter's mind will be trapped inside the Living Brain.
These events mentioned are the exact things that happened in the comics. And based on the recent movements of the second season, it looks like that this is the story arc that they are pushing through. Accordingly, if these things happen in the finale, then the next season will eventually feature Venom.
Disney XD's Senior VP of Programming, Marc Buhaj, shared in an interview earlier this week that the new season order will switch its view on its two most favorite characters in the comics. And these are Spider-Man and Venom. The third season of the show carries that subtitle, Maximum Venom, which only appropriates the plot and subject of the upcoming season.
But while these revelations can be quite rewarding for most of the fans, these are only limited information about the new season. And surely, more will come when Spider-Man Season 2 concludes in September.
