Queen Elizabeth II reportedly gave Meghan Markle a special honor, which is something that Kate Middleton waited much longer to receive.
The senior editor of PEOPLE magazine, Michelle Tauber, claims that the Duchess of Sussex received something special from Her Majesty, wherein it reportedly took longer for the monarch to give it to the Duchess of Cambridge. The royal correspondent is referring to the first solo outing of the duchesses with the Queen.
Tauber said that Markle's first solo appearance with Her Majesty was considered to be a "historic moment" as it reportedly happened very early in her marriage to Prince Harry. Middleton, on the other hand, reportedly "waited much longer" for her first solo appearance with the monarch.
And aside from the Duchess of Sussex's first solo appearance with Queen Elizabeth, she also received a special honor, which is Her Majesty invited her to accompany her on her private train during their visit to Chester.
The first solo engagement of the monarch and Markle together happened on June 14, 2018, wherein they went to Chester, which is about 165 miles northwest of London. At that time, the Queen officially unveiled the new bridge in Widnes, Cheshire and also opened the Storyhouse Theatre.
Also, the two royal ladies had their lunch at Chester's Town Hall. The first solo engagement of Queen Elizabeth and Markle also came just less than a month since the Duchess married Prince Harry.
Meanwhile, it reportedly took almost a year before Middleton had her first solo engagement with the monarch, which happened in March 2012. The duo went to the De Montfort University and also made a stop in De Montfort Square en route where they watched a dance performance.
Queen Elizabeth and the Duchess of Cambridge also watched the university's student fashion parade. Moreover, the two were spotted smiling at each other and chatting politely while they were waiting for the models to come down the catwalk.
It took seven years before the monarch and Middleton had their solo engagement once again. Just earlier this year, the royal ladies reunited for the opening of the Bush House - which was the BBC World Service headquarters before.
And then just a few weeks ago, Her Majesty supported the Duchess of Sussex at the Chelsea Flower Show, where the latter unveiled the garden that she designed. Prince William was also present at the event and joined the two ladies, and then after that day, the three reunited again at a garden party held at the Buckingham Palace.
