Its seems that BLACKPINK and BTS have not only been earning the approval of music lovers across the globe proven by their strong position on the Billboard Charts. Even the experts among Billboard's staff think their songs are the best.
According to a report by Billboard, songs by Kpop superstars BLACKPINK and BTS were among The 50 Best Songs of 2019 (so far). Only two Korean songs made it to the list, so its a great honor and validation for both groups to be included among the many choices screened by the music chart.
Based on the list that was released last June 3, BTS' Boy with Luv featuring Halsey ranked in 20th place while BLACKPINK's Kill This Love took the 50th spot. Boy with Luv was praised for bringing true to BTS' evolution from boys in love to boys with love as well as their evolving music.
BLACKPINK's Kill This Love also receives positive attention as reviewer Nolan Feeney describes the group: "The members of K-pop's reigning girl group don't just transcend language barriers with their highest-charting U.S. hit, they obliterate them."
Both BLACKPINK and BTS have been enjoying a solid position on the Billboard World Album Charts with three albums from BTS - Map of the Soul: Persona, Love Yourself: Answer and Love Yourself: Tear making it to the Top 5. BLACKPINK's Kill This Love EP has also remained solid in the Top 10 as it lands on the ninth spot in its eighth week on the list.
BLACKPINK and BTS have also been tapped by Korean motor brands Hyundai and Kia to become the brand ambassadors of their vehicle line to reflect the sister companies' world-class standards that parallel the Kpop idols' rise in the international scene.
After concluding their successful sold-out run for the Your Area North American and European tour, BLACKPINK is expected to perform next in Cotai Arena on June 8, Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena on June 13, Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on June 15, and a three-night stint at Bangkok's Impact Arena from June 12-14. The Australian and Thailand venues have all been sold out.
Meanwhile, BTS is expected to go back on their concerts and take their Love Yourself World Tour to Japan from July 6-14. Among the scheduled venues are Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka on July 6 and 7, and Shizuoka Stadium ECOPA in Shizuoka on July 13-14.
