Outlander Season 5 will explore a familiar setting as it will pick up exactly where the previous season left off. Jamie (Sam Heughan), Claire (Caitriona Balfe), Brianna (Sophie Skelton), and Roger (Richard Rankin) will all stay in the past. They are about to face chaos, but the Fraser's Ridge will play as their haven.

The Revolutionary War is looming, and the Frasers may get caught in the middle with other bigger problems to come. However, Fraser's Ridge will play a big role to keep them safe, not just their family but the community as well.

CarterMatt reported the Fraser's Ridge would be expanded in Outlander Season 5. Jamie and Claire would let a lot of people - both family members and complete strangers - in it, to keep everyone safe.

The land will turn into a community, and the production designers are now preparing to make it the Big House from Diana Gabaldon's fifth novel The Fiery Cross, on which the new season is based. Fraser's Ridge will be everybody's home in the new season and no longer an abandoned piece of land in the middle of nowhere.

In an interview with Parade, Heughan revealed the Frasers would have a new settlement in Outlander Season 5. "Fraser's Ridge has really flourished. There are a lot of towns nearby, and you can feel the buildup of it," he said.

There would be a Great War, but Heughan disclosed Jamie and Claire are doing their best to make sure that they are on the right side. "I think the sheer size of what we're dealing with now and the sheer numbers of cast and of locations, as well, is a challenge," he added. But as they are still filming in Scotland for America, it is also a big challenge for them.

Heughan also talked about Jamie's future in Outlander Season 5 after he was tasked to form a militia and go after Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) in the previous season. The 39-year-old star admitted he couldn't say anything much about his character's storyline, but as previously seen, he is on the Redcoats' side.

Jamie has made a deal with the Redcoats, the British Army, so he is actually on the opposite side of his allegiance and where his real loyalty lies. However, Jamie knows he needs to do it, so he seems left with no choice.

Jamie has to be with the Redcoats for the sake of his family, and for his tenants as well. He has to make sure their land is secured and make it a safe place for everyone. Hence, he will be going in league with the British in Outlander Season 5.

Although it is a very hard thing to do for Jaime, he doesn't want anyone he loves and innocents to suffer. Starz has yet to announce when Droughtlander will end, but Outlander Season 5 is expected to be released later this year.
