Melania Trump called Ireland a "beautiful place" and thanked performers at the Shannon Airport cultural event Wednesday. She received a bouquet of flowers which had been offered her by a dancer.

The First Lady had expressed her gratefulness for the performance held in her honor that day. She said she was thankful to the people who were present and who had shared their "talents" Melania verbalized her enjoyment of the unique experience she had of "Irish traditions."

She made mention of Shannon Heritage for the "lovely event." Wednesday's program at the Shannon Airport was also graced by the Minister for Culture, Josepha Madigan. During the cultural performance, the President had been in a meeting with Leo Varadkar, the Taoiseach of Ireland.

Thursday evening, Melania and Donald Trump shared a "relaxed dinner" with a few people at the Trump's resort and golf course in Doonbeg, west County Clare, Ireland. The guests partook of the hotel fare of fish and chips, some sirloin steak, burgers, as well as fish, sea bass, to be specific.

Those present at the dinner were the Irish ambassador to the Unites States, Dan Mulhall, as well as the senator of Fianna Fáil, Mark Daly. John Deasy, who is the special envoy to Washington, was also in attendance.

The security, composed of a handful of Secret Service personnel, was said to be relaxed at the event, as pointed out by the past government advisor of Fianna Fáil, Stephen Kearon. He further revealed that the place had been "seventy percent full."

The U.S. President had arrived at around 7:30 pm and was said to have had his meal and did not stay long. Nobody was "star struck" Kearon related. Melania had been seated beside President Trump, along with Sarah Sanders.

Mr. and Mrs. Trump had not expected to be making any other public appearances Thursday, even though some of the residents of the area had looked forward to it.

This visit to the Trump International Golf Links and Hotel by the U.S. First Lady and the President was the last leg of their European trip. They had earlier attended the D-Day commemorations in Normandy and had gone to a Caen restaurant with the French president's wife, Brigitte Macron.

The couple's whole trip had been an eventful one, and the First Lady Melania had been in attendance for most of the functions her husband attended. Her fashion statement while on the five-day European sojourn had been much written about.

It was not the first time though that Melania had gone by way of the Shannon Airport. On her way to Africa last year, the First Lady had made her stop there.
