EXO's Baekhyun is the next member of the Kpop boy band to release his solo album, confirmed by SM Entertainment in a statement. If plans proceed accordingly, this could mean that Baekhyun's album would be released as early as July.

Accoring to a report by Soompi, Baekhyun will finally be given a well deserved solo break and is now preparing well for his album. This is the first time the artist will go solo since his debut with EXO seven years ago. The album comes closely at the heels of the solo album released by EXO Chen entitled April and A Flower. EXO Lay made his solo debut in China in 2016.

EXO Baekhyun has been impressing fans with his on strong vocals in his previous collaborations with Suzy, K.Will and Loco for Korean dramas OSTs and fans have been clamoring to hear more of his voice as a solo. Among his hits are For You from the Korean drama Scarlet Heart: Ryeo where he stars with IU. He also performed Beautiful from OST of EXO Next Door, a web drama featuring members of the Kpop idol group.

Apart from collaborating with Kdrama OSTs, EXO Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin also perform as part of the EXO sub group EXO-CBX. It is believed that with the mandatory enlistment of EXO members Xiumin and DO, other members of the group will be engaging on more solo activities on top of their performances as a group in the following months.

With two members currently enlisted and other members soon to follow suit, EXO still maintains a strong position in the Brand Reputation Rankings conducted by the Korean Business Research Institute. For the month of June, EXO maintained its third place position from last month and increased their index by 13.6 percent too. EXO only trails two boy groups - BTS and AB6IX for this month with its 4,034,002 index, fresh reports indicated.

EXO also remains very visible in talent and variety shows. The remaining members of the group -- Suho, Kai, Sehun, Baekhyun, and Chen, recently appeared in JTBC's Stage K dance show to serve as guest judges for the teams who will perform hits from EXO.

For the EXO episode, teams from Thailand, US, Japan and Belarus performed top hits like Monster, Tempo, Ko Ko Bop and Growl. Baekhyun appeared to be very impressed with the teams and said that because of the energy that the contestants showed, they should practice more too. In the end, it was Team Japan who took the win and got the chance to perform Love Shot on stage with EXO.
