Sasaengs are obsessive fans who stalk, engage, and invade the privacy of a Korean idol or other public figures. With that said, a lot of South Korean celebrities are trying to avoid these sasaeng fans like a plague.
But despite their efforts, these obsessive fans still manage to reach them that left them with no other choice but to deal with these fans. Being one of the most successful K-pop bands in history, BTS certainly has a lot of fans — and some of them are sasaengs.
On June 17th, BTS’s Jungkook held a personal V-Live and revealed how he deals with sasaeng fans. The golden maknae was drinking a glass of wine during the stream that was appropriately titled Relaxing Drink After Happy Times.
In the middle of his live stream, Jungkook received a call on his phone. Instead of taking the call, the 21-year-old singer, songwriter and record producer looked at the number and then explained the situation to ARMYs watching him at the time.
“This is a call from a fan. It’s saying ‘You’re doing a V-Live and I just called to check,’” Jungkook revealed. “What I do is, I immediately blocked the call. I actually get a lot of calls from sasaeng fans.”

Some might think that Jungkook was being ungrateful as sasaeng fans help him reach the success that he has right now, but these idols need to protect themselves too. Some of these obsessive fans can be very creepy and dangerous, which is why the BTS star decided to ignore the call instead.
Knowing how annoying sasaeng fans are, ARMYs were furious that they would bother Jungkook like that and commended him on calling them out on their unacceptable behavior.
One netizen showed a clip from Jungkook’s V-Live and wrote: “Jungkook received a call from a sasaeng in the middle of his vlive & admitted that he gets a lot of phone calls from ‘sasaeng FANS’ but block them right away. This is the first time bts has ever called them out, I hope y’all know he hates your saesang a**.”
This was definitely a bold move from Jungkook, especially because he’s the youngest member of the group and is known for being playful. However, these sasaeng fans clearly became a nuisance to him that he was left with no choice but to demand respect and remind them that what they were doing is not okay.
