A new villain is coming to The Flash season 6. The character, whose identity has not yet been revealed, will be a man with a diverse background.

TV Line reported that an actor is being sought for this significant role. The series has had several villains presented in the past seasons so it's difficult to speculate on who could be the new Big Bad.

However, outgoing showrunner Todd Helbing once discussed the possibility of introducing Red Death in The Flash in an interview with Comic Book. This character, who is a speedster and an evil version of Batman, appeared in the comic book "Dark Knights: Metal" and was name-dropped in The Flash season 5.

Excited by this prospect, fans have picked Paul Wesley to play Red Death in The Flash season 6 by creating fan art of The Vampire Diaries actor in his costume. Wesley, however, has a new series commitment with CBS All Access and won't likely be able to play this part.

Other fans think that The Flash season 6 will bring in the Anti-Monitor, who has links to the upcoming "Crisis On Infinite Earths" crossover episode. Per Cinema Blend, this character was the sole reason the heroes in the Arrowverse had to work together in the comic book version.

Anti-Monitor has yet to be introduced in the storyline. There's a good possibility he's coming to The Flash season 6 first before "Crisis On Infinite Earths" plays out. Helbing did say that he envisioned this special episode to be the finale for The Flash season 6.

However, plans could change with the new showrunner Eric Wallace, who was confirmed to take over Helbing in March, per Variety. Helbing has decided to leave the series to develop new projects for Warner Bros. Television. Wallace, on the other hand, joined the writing team in season 4 and became an executive producer in the fifth season.

Meanwhile, The CW announced that The Flash season 6 would premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 8:00 p.m. The show will serve as an anchor to the new show Batwoman.

The Flash season 6 also stars Candice Patton (as Iris West), Danielle Panabaker (as Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost),Carlos Valdes (as Cisco Ramon), Tom Cavanagh (as Harrison "Sherloque" Wells), Jesse L. Martin (as Joe West), and Chris Klein (as Cicada). Production of the new season will likely begin in early July.
