Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson comes back to memory lane as he accepts the Generation Award given to him by the MTV Movie and TV Awards board and he has some words of wisdom to ponder on. Being a celebrity is not at all easy way, and Johnson shares a bit of his journey to the young generation.

The Fast and Furious star was not so sure about how people will accept him as he begins his acting career in Hollywood. Although he is from California, he has clear mix racial features that are a usual topic for discrimination and doubt from other people. Dwayne Johnson is half black and half Samoan at 6 foot 4, 275 pounds and a pro wrestler.

When he was an aspiring actor back then, there were no roles to fit on him, and the Baywatch star will have to sacrifice a lot from what he is accustomed to. Johnson shares that he was forced to lose weight and even stopped from working out, more so, his screen name of "The Rock" did not go well to some producers.

Unfortunately, Dwayne Johnson was made to believe that he has to do all these things just to be a celebrity, and with that, he started to dislike what he was doing. Eventually, he followed what his heart desires and chose to be happy instead of being miserable.

Dwayne Johnson sees to it that "Hollywood would conform to him" instead of the other way around. And now his philosophy has paid off because of what he has become. By just being true to himself, he was able to achieve so much and still maintained his popularity as "The Rock."

The Rampage star left a few unforgettable words during his speech, and he said that there is no problem in being true to oneself and to act natural, as long as other people feel comfortable and happy too. That being said by Johnson, being himself did not entirely mean being insensitive and irresponsible to the people around you.

Dwayne Johnson reiterated by saying, "we bring everyone with us, and you do that by being kind, compassionate, inclusive and straight up, just being good to people because it matters." With these actions, he said that it is the key to be able to touch other people's heart and become an inspiration to them. From his words alone, the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star already prove that these things work from his award alone.
