There is little doubt that people were greatly disappointed when Supreme Leader Snoke met an untimely end in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The villain, who had been manipulating Kylo Ren since Star Wars: The Force Awakens, was expected to play a huge role in Star Wars Episode 9. But is it possible that fans haven't seen the last of Snoke just yet? Some believe that the First Order leader could return and continue tormenting Kylo in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
The death of Supreme Leader Snoke in The Last Jedi was a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one. After all, it freed Kylo Ren from the constant torment of proving himself as a worthy apprentice of the villain. However, several fans argued that Snoke's unexpected demise didn't seem right considering that he was expected to be the sequel trilogy's Big Bad. Could Snoke still be alive in Star Wars Episode 9?
Several theories suggest that although Snoke is gone, he will still play a huge part in The Rise of Skywalker. There is a possibility that Kylo Ren will continue to have visions of the master he had murdered in The Last Jedi. Perhaps Kylo's guilt will bring back the former Supreme Leader in a way that he can continue to antagonize Kylo.
Interestingly, Snoke isn't the only dead character who is expected to continue showing up in Episode 9. Some believe that Kylo Ren will also be haunted by his father Han Solo, whom he killed in The Force Awakens. In addition to that, there are speculations that Kylo will discover a true Force connection to his grandfather, who could appear as a Force ghost. However, the vision that Kylo will see is expected to be a strange combination between Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader who may try to urge him to abandon the Dark Side.
The return of these characters would certainly make Kylo Ren's battle with himself much more interesting. However, it is important to point out that their return has not been confirmed and it would be best to take this with a grain of salt. In the meantime, fans can expect Kylo to continue to struggle with his conscience in Star Wars Episode 9.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set to be the final film in the Skywalker Saga. It is currently scheduled for release on December 20.
