After six months of waiting, Ink Master has returned for an all-new season of competition.
On June 11, the twelfth season of the popular reality competition television show has kicked things off. And 18 new artists are bound to compete for the title of Ink Master, a feature on Inked Magazine, and a cash prize of $100,000.
This season, the first episode introduced the new artists and eventually divided them into two groups depending on their gender. And this is when the first challenge started in the new season's series called, the Battle of The Sexes.
At the end of the episode, the women won the challenge. And this means that the one who will be eliminated will come from the men's team. Tim Lease, an artist from Orlando with five years of experience, was chosen as the first artist to lose the competition.
When the second episode premiered a week after, things have become so much more interesting and exciting as the judges revealed a new thing to happen for Ink Master Season 12.
It has been announced that each week, two Ink Master veterans will return for this season who will serve as the coaches for each team. And during that time, seasons 3 and 8 winners, Joey Hamilton and Ryan Ashley, respectively, came back to coach the teams.
The Battle of The Sexes continued with the week's theme, shading. Of course, it first started with the flash challenge wherein the men's team have won as a group with their coach, Ryan Ashley. And upon judging the outcome of the elimination tattoo round, they have, yet again, won the challenge.
Even so, the bottom three were picked by judges. And as it happened, these are Alexis, Big Jaz, and Elva. But before the judges were able to officially pick one of them, things have become so much more surprising and shocking.
Elva stepped up and made her voice known. According to Inked, Elva decided to officially eliminate herself. And based on reports, she chose to quit due to mental health reasons.
Of course, the judges and the show did not hinder her from doing her decisions. And so, Ink Master Season 12 is now down to 16 artists.
Ink Master Season 12 Episode 3 titled, Down The Wire, is set to premiere on June 25, on Paramount Network. And it will continue the intense Battle of The Sexes.
