Midnight, on June 17, Marvel Entertainment released a tweet update that appears to be a teaser. In the photo, the number 4 is largely depicted, and it is made from strings of webs with a spider in its center point.

Of course, the whole Twitter world, along with the entire Marvel fandom, was shocked as this could be the teaser for the most-awaited Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4. And just a few hours after, the speculations and reports about the previously canceled film resurfaced the media.

The Marvel film, Spider-Man, which starred Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, received a fourth installment order way back in 2007. According to reports, the development was already in place immediately after the release of Spider-Man 3.

But things got complicated after a few years. And in 2010, Spider-Man director, Sam Raimi, officially withdrew from his position which led Sony Pictures to cancel the plans for Spider-Man 4. And after this unfortunate event, the supposed fourth installment to the film series was never heard again.

Not until the teaser came out a few days ago, the fandom became hopeful, once more, as the chance of obtaining the canceled film is at an all-time high. But when Marvel Entertainment released a new teaser the day after, the disappointments from the fans have become apparent.

The second teaser released on June 18 depicted the same theme of the poster. But this time, it shows the number 3 instead of 4. Quite obviously, the teaser is a countdown to a huge revelation.

Although the fandom is still hoping that these teasers are referring to Spider-Man 4, the likeliness of it is beginning to slim down. And as it happened, the teasers turned out to be a countdown for J.J. Abrams and Henry Abrams' announcement for the upcoming Spider-Man comic series.

The final revelation took place on the morning of June 20. And based on Marvel Entertainment's tweet updates, the new Spider-Man comic series is set to arrive this September. As per The New York Times, the upcoming comic mini-series will feature a new villain, Cadaverous, who will bring chaos to both Spider-Man and Peter Parker.

In addition to these details, writer J.J. Abrams and son, Henry Abrams, also hinted that this new comic would feature a newer side of Spider-Man that has never been seen by anyone on films and previous comic series.

While some fans are already excited for its arrival, others, however, expressed their great dismay and disappointment about the revelation. As it happens, they are much more looking forward to having Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 instead of a new comic series of the popular hero.
