When Suits first arrived on USA Network in 2011, Gabriel Macht's Harvey Specter and Patrick J. Adams' Mike Ross immediately caught the attention of many. With their undeniable chemistry, the show easily found its way to the hearts of the audience.
But when the later installments arrived, specifically Season 7, it shocked the whole fandom when Patrick J. Adams left the show for good. His exit, along with his on-screen spouse, Meghan Markle, who plays the role of Rachel Zane, was fittingly laid out when their characters got married and decided to move out to Seattle.
It is also worth mentioning that Gina Torres, who plays the role of Jessica Pearson, also made her exit in the earlier installments to give way for her role in the show's spin-off series titled, Pearson.
So, upon the arrival of Suits Season 8, the plot has offered all-news faces and characters to fill in their spots. While the most recent installment misses some of its main characters, the premise and plot did not feel any lacking. In fact, it was delivered greatly by the production which made USA Network to officially renew the series for Season 9.
However, Suits Season 9 is revealed to be the last installment for the course of the show. This actually saddens the majority of the fans. But even so, newer reports state that, while the upcoming season will serve as the finale, it will definitely be satisfying. And one of the many reasons behind is due to Patrick J. Adams' return as Mike Ross.
A few weeks ago, a lot of speculations have been made that Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle will return to reprise their roles as Mike and Rachel, respectively, as per TV Line. But considering Meghan's current life events, it will be quite impossible to happen.
As for Patrick J. Adams, the chance of his return is pretty high. And not long after, Variety has learned just a few moments ago that his comeback as Mike Ross is already confirmed.
Suits will have a total of ten episodes in its final season. But there are no assurances yet if Patrick J. Adams will be included in all of the episodes. Even so, many are quite thrilled and glad that he will be back in the series just before it finally concludes its plot for good.
Suits Season 9 will premiere on July 17, on USA Network.
