The release of Star Wars Episode 9 is still a few months away, but new theories continue to rise every day. For instance, some believe that Supreme Leader Snoke will continue to play a huge role in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. But could it have something to do with the villain have a strange connection to a Jedi Master? Was Snoke secretly connected to Yoda?

People were understandably shocked when Supreme Leader Snoke was killed by Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. After all, Snoke was expected to be the new bad guy who will torment both Kylo and Rey until Star Wars Episode 9. Despite his death, fans are still wondering if the villain will show up in The Rise of Skywalker to continue tormenting his former apprentice. But will the film also confirm that Snoke was connected to another character who was featured in Episode VIII?

It has just been revealed that a new comic book about Snoke will be released in September. Star Wars: Age of Resistance - Snoke #1 is set to focus on the villain right after he convinced Ben Solo to abandon Luke Skywalker and join the First Order. The comics, which is written by Tom Taylor and illustrated by Leonard Kirk, will reveal the "brutal training" that Ben had to undergo to become Snoke's apprentice. In addition to that, the story could confirm that Ben's connection to the Light Side might be a major obstacle for the Supreme Leader.

"Will the sadistic Snoke break his tormented protégé? Or has he underestimated the son of Han and Leia?" reads the synopsis for the Marvel comic book.

While we need to wait until September to see more of Kylo Ren's training, the cover art for Snoke #1 may have teased on the villain's connection to Yoda. The cover, which was illustrated by Phil Noto, depicts Snoke sitting on his throne with branches of a tree visible behind him. One fan has noted that it looks like Yoda's tree on the planet Dagobah, where he trained Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back.

Another possible connection to Yoda suggests that the tree represents the one that held the sacred Jedi texts in Luke's temple on Ahch-To. Fans would remember that Yoda, as a Force ghost, used Force lightning to burn down the tree in The Last Jedi. However, it is important to point out that these are currently based on theory, so it is best to take it with a grain of salt.

Star Wars: Age of Resistance - Snoke #1 will be released on September 11. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will premiere on December 20.
