BLACKPINK is once again nominated in this year's Teen Choice Awards, this time picking up a nomination for Choice Song and Choice International Artist.

BLACKPINK members Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rose's efforts paid off big time when their megahit song DDU DU DDU DU received a nod from the popular award-giving body alongside other international acts like  Imagine Dragons for Bad Liar, 5 Seconds of Summer's for Easier, Panic! At The Disco for Hey Look Ma, I Made It, Jonas Brothers' comeback song Sucker, and Why Don't We's 8 Letters, Soompi reported.

BLACKPINK was also nominated this year for one of the biggest awards of the show, which is Choice International Artist. This year, they are pitted against fellow Kpop acts like BTS, EXO and NCT 127 as well as British pop group Little Mix and Latin boy band CNCO. BLINKs are also vying for the best fandom award.

This is the second time that Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose are nominated for the category as they also picked up a nod from the Teen Choice Awards for Choice International Artist last year where they lost out to BTS. It's interesting to see whether history repeats itself or if girl power proves this time around.

Among the Korean acts to win the Choice International Award at the Teen Choice Awards in previous years is Super Junior in 2015 with ELFs (Everlasting Friends) picking up the honors for best fandom. For the last two years in 2017 and 2018, BTS proved their strength in the category with the help of their ARMY, who also won the best fandom award back to back.

The Teen Choice Awards is one of the most sought after awards since it reflects the choice of the teens all over the US for the categories of music, film, television, sports, fashion, comedy, and the internet. The voting period lasts until June 25 while winners will be announced on August 11 live via Fox at 8 p.m. ET.

Most recently, BTS, BLACKPINK and TWICE topped the June idol brand value rankings conducted by the Korea Institute of Corporate Reputation.

The monthly survey analyzed 150,000,000 pices of date of some 100 idol groups, and BTS emerged as the top act with 19,031,824 points. BLACKPINK followed at second place with 6,589,376 points while TWICE rounded up the third spot with 6,386,629 points, All Kpop reported. All three Kpop groups are currently promoting their music in different parts of the world by touring North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia.
