Read at your own risk: This article contains spoilers for Poldark Season 4.
The long wait is almost over as Poldark Season 5 is about to arrive anytime soon. Although the exact premiere date is not yet revealed, it is hinted many times already that the new and final season of the show will premiere this summer. And as the mid-summer season approaches, many fans are now looking at the last stage of the waiting game.
Apparently, a July release is very plausible as the last two seasons of Poldark premiered in the month of June. But some fans are looking at an August release as well. Even so, the avid and die-hard fanatics of the show do not mind at all as long as the plot of the final season will provide them the ultimate satisfaction.
As it appears, little has been shared about the details of the new season. But according to Cartermatt, there are a few major revelations that have been given by its writer, Debbie Horsfield.
If anyone would recall the last few moments of Poldark Season 4, it has been a huge and yet saddening surprise when Elizabeth met her ultimate demise. And this left George at a very heartbreaking place.
In an interview with Debbie Horsfield, she revealed that the new season will largely feature George's grieving period. This is because the loss of Elizabeth made him realize that he cannot move on with his life without her. But certainly, he will move on and forward when the right time comes.
As for the popular Poldark couple, Ross and Demelza, Debbie Horsfield also shared with Radio Times that the two will have a pretty stable relationship when the new and final season arrives. Moreover, she ensured the fans that the couple will be the "endgame" of the installment.
Quite obviously, this is a half-truth. So while there are revelations already about the course of their relationships, certainly, things will go in several paths, in one way or another. Accordingly, this is why the fans have become so much more eager to obtain the new and final season of Poldark.
As for the course of the adaptation, the upcoming season will take place in between the seventh and eighth novels of the series which carries the same title authored by Winston Graham. And this means that instead of following the course of the eighth novel titled, The Stranger From The Sea, which happened in 1810 onwards, the fifth season is set to take place in between 1799 and 1810.
