K-pop stars Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo officially announced on June 27 that they are getting divorce, which has been rumored since a few months ago.
Song Joong Ki has announced through his lawyer Park Jae Hyun that he will be filing for divorce from Song Hye Kyo, "Hello, this is Song Joong Ki. First of all, I apologize for bringing bad news to everyone who loves and cares about me. I have arranged for my divorce with Song Hye Kyo."
"We both hope to settle the divorce process in a smooth manner, rather than attack and blame each other.Please understand that it is difficult to reveal the stories about our personal lives." Song Joong Ki said in the statement.
"From now on, I will try my best as an actor to repay everyone with good works." The actor continued.
Meanwhile, Song Hye Kyo also released her statement about her divorce with Song Joong Ki, saying the two divorced due to personality differences.
Song Hye Kyo’s agency UAA said in a statement, "First, we are sorry to greet everyone with bad news. Out actress, Song Hye Kyo, is currently divorcing her husband after careful consideration between the two."
The agency explained, "The reason was because of their differences in personality. The two were unable to overcome their differences, which led to this decision."
The agency UAA continued, "We politely ask for your understanding as we cannot confirm more details, because it is both of the actors’ private lives. Also, we ask that you please refrain from leaving provocative or speculative comments on the matter. We are sorry to cause worry. We will try our best to greet you all with a better side in the future."
Kpop news site Koreaboo reported that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo both reportedly moved out of their newlywed house months ago.
Previously, Chinese media reported that Song Hye Kyo appearing in public without her wedding ring, speculating their devoice a few months ago.
The Song-Song couple got married on October 31, 2017.
