Fans are now waiting for the much-hyped Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover that will happen in the Arrowverse. As The CW has announced its fall schedule, including the DC TV series, Melissa Benoist teased the beginning of Supergirl Season 5's production.
In a post on Instagram, Benoist revealed the start of the new season's production in Vancouver. Her post makes fans more excited as the show began filming earlier than expected.
According to CarterMatt, the series included in the Arrowverse usually start filming in July. So, the early start of production surprises everyone.
Supergirl Season 5 may explore the aftermath of Lex Luthor's (Jon Cryer) actions in the previous season and the rise of Leviathan. Season 4 has been setting the stage for the coming of this organization.

As the Leviathan is not as famous as a Lex or a Reign, the show's writers have more freedom to create its storyline the way they want it to be. Hence, Supergirl Season 5 will be different from its predecessors.
Season 4 followed a storyline that was more relevant to the world today. Its Agent Liberty plotline featured the characters who tried to fight the hate and discover the light within. The new season, on the other hand, might continue what the previous chapter started, but it would still have its own identity.
Supergirl Season 5 will also feature the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. This intersection of every Arrowverse superhero's lives is said to be the "most ambitious" superhero event on TV.
It will span the different versions of the Arrowverse, which even includes Legends of Tomorrow that will not be on air until 2020. The crossover's primary goal is reportedly to set the stage for an epic showdown of the multiverse's fate. However, there are fears that Supergirl and other superheroes may meet their demise here.
Fans can expect to see action-packed scenes, the pairing of unique characters, and a powerful villain in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. This much-awaited event will begin with a bunch of its first episode at the end of the year.
Supergirl Season 5 will still be setting up its storylines despite the crossover. So, it will never change how its story flows for the Crisis on Infinite Earths. However, it may still bear a plotline to recognize the intersection of superheroes' lives and stories.
KryptonSite noted Supergirl Season 5 would be out on Sunday, Oct. 6. It would be seen on its new schedule of 9 p.m.
