Before the release of You Need To Calm Down last June 14, the Love Story singer finally revealed the name of her seventh and upcoming album, along with the number of tracks and the title of her second single.
These revelations caused for many fans to be so much more excited with Lover's arrival. And this is all because it had been months already when Taylor started her charades and games for TS7.
It all started when the ME! artist posted a series of pastel-colored images on her Instagram account last spring season. Of course, the majority of the fans already know that there is something going on with Taylor Swift. And quite interestingly, many Swifties immediately arrived with the conclusion that a new album is about to land anytime soon.
Before April ends, almost all of the fans thought that Taylor would already release her seventh album. But instead, the leadoff single, ME!, was released. But what largely caught the attention of her fans is the fact that the music video of ME! housed several tiers of clues and hints about the upcoming album and its singles. And without hesitations, the fans jumped right in and joined Taylor Swift' Easter egg hunting.
As a result, ME! became a viral hit in just a matter of hours. However, it was not enough as the leadoff single did not reach the top of the charts. Even so, the fans remained hopeful that the second single will provide more success to Taylor's new era.
But things are not going well for Lover and Taylor Swift. As it happened, You Need To Calm Down became a very controversial topic in the industry and society due to its socio-political tones. And even if many individuals support the artist with her current agenda, her second single was only able to grab the second place in the charts. So right now, a lot of people are asking what will happen next to Lover.
The truth is - while the major secrets of Lover are already spilled, little has been shared about the specifications. There is no actual release date yet. Nevertheless, it is already made known that it will be comprised of 18 tracks in totality.
