June 28 marks the Stonewall Day in New York and if not for the brave early LGBTQ community, this day wouldn't happen as they fought for their freedom and their unconditional rights as fellow citizens of the country. As Pride Month comes to an end, millions of supporters and well-wishers gathered for Pride Live celebrating the 50th anniversary of these brave souls called Stonewall riots.
And one of its celebrity supporters surprised a lot of her fans there like Lady Gaga who has no inhibitions of how proud she is to her LGBTQ followers. Like all those who are there, the multi-awarded artist offered her support, praise, encouragement, strength and a lot of love as she gave a touching speech in front of the huge audience.
Lady Gaga arrived in Greenwich Village wearing a bright custom Versace color-blocked cropped denim jacket, fringed cutoffs with thigh-high rainbow boots. And because it is her hometown, her fans just love her homecoming as they know how the Bad Romance singer embrace them with unwavering love and support of their individuality and equality.
As people gathered on a stage along Waverly and Christopher Street, they listened to Lady Gaga's speech, which was all about love and bravery. It was an emotional speech as she emphasized how the LGBTQ community has fought a lot of battles since then, which mainly rooted in the acceptance of the community to the society.
According to Lady Gaga, the LGBTQ community is the true definition of courage and while she said that, the A Star Is Born actress almost wiped a tear in her eyes and continued with her speech. Furthermore, she felt honored and privileged to be invited to their event, although organizers were able to be surprised the audience with her appearance.
Lady Gaga was answered by "I love you's" from the crowd, and they applauded her genuine emotion of love to all of them. She gave importance to the occasion as the Shallow singer said that it is the LGBTQ community's celebration and that she will never degrade the fight and the adversity that they have endured so that their voice will be heard.
True enough in her speech, the LGBTQ community has encountered troubles within themselves as they try to accept and love who they are, for so many years and even until now, some of them are still living inside a closet, hiding their true identity. It is very important that self-love must start from within, and that is why Lady Gaga encourages them by always saying how she loves them.
It was also revealed that Lady Gaga's mother has been running the "Born This Way" Foundation when she acknowledged the presence of her parents and even joked that the "Germanotta's all here for you." Lady Gaga is a proud New Yorker, born at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, New York.
