Lucifer Season 5 production officially begins and people behind the show are now giving updates on their respective social media accounts. The show's writers are now back at work to do its last and final season that will end Lucifer's (Tom Ellis) journey here on Earth.

The writer/producer Chris Rafferty shared a snap of the show's writers on Twitter, along with its lead star, Ellis. "First day of #Lucifer Season 5 Writers Room Beginning of the end," he captioned the snap.

According to CarterMatt, the show's writers know that Lucifer Season 5 will be the series' final outing. Hence, they have the appropriate time to craft a proper ending for everyone's story and tie all the loose ends.

They may first work out on Lucifer's return to Earth after he is forced to make a comeback to hell. They also should create a way to make him back around the show's other characters, especially Chloe (Lauren German).

Fans are also clamoring for Lucifer to have a happy ending. Although the beginning may feature some hardships, it should present a proper conclusion that will make every viewer, who supports the show from the very beginning, satisfied.

Ellis, on the other hand, also marked the production's start by posting the same photo. "First day at the writers room for #luciferseason5. Everyone is very excited about the possibilities...I can't wait!" he said.

Showrunner Ildy Modrovich also shared a similar photograph and said they are all back in hell, but it couldn't make them happier. According to Metro News, as early as now, the screenwriter already penned a heartfelt message in an open letter for fans and thanked them for "everything they have done" for the series.

Fans did everything to save the show by starting a social media campaign when Fox canceled the series after three seasons. They also did the same thing when Netflix didn't renew the show right away after Season 4.

"You have done everything to save this series which is for us more than a series," Modrovich said. She also added the series had been a big help for her, not just when she is sad but even when she is happy as well.

Modrovich even admitted the show had changed her life. So, she is now looking forward to seeing everyone when they finish Lucifer's story.

"On behalf of the cast and Joe and I... we look forward to spending this final season basking in the Luci-love with you!!" she said. Netflix has yet to announce when Lucifer Season 5 will be out, but it is expected to return in 2020.
