New details about the upcoming Fast & Furious 9 have been emerging around the media. Just a year ago, one of the franchise’s lead actor, Vin Diesel, who plays the role of Dominic “Dom” Toretto, revealed that his on-screen sister, Mia, will be back for the next installment of the film series.

Aside from Mia’s comeback after leaving the course in Furious 7, this revelation has finally confirmed that the ninth installment to the franchise will actually happen in the succeeding years. And today, the production for Fast & Furious 9 has begun.

During the fourth day on set, Vin Diesel posted a quick video featuring Jordana Brewster, who plays the role of Mia, and a new face who is set to be a new addition to the cast members. As it happened, it became a surprise to everyone when Vin Diesel introduced the little boy as Baby Brian.

Apparently, the young actor was the same boy who played the role back in The Fate of The Furious when he was first introduced. Baby Brian, which is a direct nod to Paul Walker’s popular character, Brian, is actually a son to Elena and Dom.

Quite obviously, Fast & Furious 9 will enlighten the viewers and fans about the events that occurred between Mia and Brian after leaving the family in Furious 7. And this will surely be an emotional one as Mia’s character will always be related to Paul Walker’s.

Even so, the whole fandom of the franchise will need to wait for a few months since the production just started. And according to Cinema Blend, Fast & Furious 9 is set to premiere on May 22, 2020. Also, it is expected that the official title of the installment will be revealed in the next few months.

Aside from Mia and Baby Brian, new cast additions are also uncovered. As it appears, John Cena, Finn Cole, and Vinnie Bennett will join the franchise for the upcoming installment. But as for their roles in the course, there is no further information given yet.

The same is also true for its plot since only little has been shared about the premise of the upcoming film. Nevertheless, Fast & Furious 9 is perceived by its own cast members as one of their best installments yet.

On another note, there are also speculations that a tenth installment is also in the progress of creation. Originally, the ninth film is set to arrive in 2019 which would allow for a new film to premiere in 2021. But due to undisclosed reasons, the upcoming installment is now sealed for a 2020 premiere.
Accordingly, the supposed “Fast X” might arrive in 2022.
