There is little doubt that the Star Wars sequel trilogy puts the focus on a mysterious girl from Jakku who never expected to be a Jedi. Although people were expecting the new movies to focus on Anakin Skywalker's grandchildren, it has mostly been about the journey of Rey. But is it possible that Star Wars Episode 9 will conclude with the death of Rey? Some believe that Daisy Ridley has confirmed that Rey will end up dead in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

There's a lot of expectations when it comes to Rey considering that she has now proven that she is very strong in the Force and fully capable of taking on Kylo Ren. In Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Rey underwent a brief training under Luke Skywalker before setting off to try and bring the former Ben Solo back to the Light Side. Unfortunately, it didn't work out so well since Kylo wanted her to join him instead. The two ended up fighting over Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber, which was torn apart by their Force tug-of-war.

Rey's story is bound to get even more interesting in Star Wars Episode 9 as people are expecting her to face Kylo Ren once again. In addition to that, The Rise of Skywalker could finally reveal whether Rey is the Chosen One who was meant to bring balance to the Force. But will it all end with Rey having to sacrifice herself to achieve the fabled Balance? There are speculations that Daisy Ridley has hinted at her character's demise this December.

Daisy Ridley was recently interviewed about her new film Ophelia, but the Star Wars: The Force Awakens actress has also happy to answer questions about The Rise of Skywalker. At one point, Ridley was asked if she would be interested in returning as Rey in more Star Wars movies. Interestingly, the Chaos Walking star claimed she "can't imagine it right now" because the Episode 9 ending is "very satisfying" and "felt like an end."

"There are so many characters in the Star Wars world who've never been explored, there's so much for the filmmakers to work on," Ridley said. "So right now, I don't think so."

Daisy Ridley's answer certainly had people wondering if this meant Rey would be killed in Star Wars Episode 9. However, it's possible that Rey will emerge victorious in the film. Hopefully, things will work out for Rey and Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which premieres on December 20.
