With only less than six weeks left, the fans can no longer contain the excitement that they have for the upcoming season of The Affair. But while the premiere day is about to arrive, it also means that the show is about to end soon.
Unfortunately, The Affair Season 5 is already the final installment for the critically acclaimed show from Showtime. So, it is no wonder why the fandom is having a mixed reaction towards its premiere.
Along with the apparent countdown, Showtime has also released a new official trailer for the upcoming season. And based on the short clip, it seemingly appears that things will be so much more intense, especially for Noah and Helen.
As any fan would recall, the previous season ended with a shocking and unfortunate event. Sadly, Alison met her demise, which leaves Noah and everyone that surrounds them in total shock. But of course, this event also paved ways for Noah to realize all of his actions ever since the pilot run of The Affair.
Accordingly, the upcoming season appears to continue where the series last left off. And as what the trailer has hinted, Noah is now looking forward to moving on after what happened with Alison. Hence, it seems that he is now trying to get all things back to normal with Helen.
According to TV Line, Helen is not taking things the way Noah perceive them. And as far as she is concerned, she no longer intends to fix things with him.
Even so, the trailer has also hinted that one of them might get into an accident as a Range Rover crashes into the back of a truck. Hence, whatever happens, this accident might serve as a huge twist for the final season of The Affair.
On another note, Ruth Wilson, who plays the role of Alison, will no longer return for the new season. Her shocking death on the last few moments of the last season served as her ultimate exit. However, there is no definite reason as to why she left the show for good.
For all the fans know, as per Vulture, Ruth Wilson, has hoped for a different way to exit. Hence, many are speculating that her exit is probably a result of a possible conflict within the production.
The Affair Season 5 is set to premiere on August 25, on Showtime.
