The new 2020 Nissan GT-R Nismo carries a hefty price tag of $212,425. That is a testament to just how many upgrades and improvements Nissan was able to put into this beast of a car. The car has just been released for a number of weeks, and it has already taken the auto community by storm, mainly because of just how good it is.
When Nissan first released the GT-R Nismo lineup, it was dubbed as an affordable alternative to the performance market. However, as the car continues to age by the year, so does its price. While this is entirely true, Nissan can stand up and claim that the hefty price tag I justified by the car's overwhelming performance. With the 2020 GT-R Nismo, the car has finally crossed the $200,000 price point.
Compared to its 2019 predecessor, the 2020 GT-R Nismo costs about $12,000 more. For that extra price, the cars get a new set of Rays 20-inch forged wheels, a number of visual flair upgrades, and most important of all, an improved engine.
The new 2020 GT-R has a number of trims. The 50th Anniversary GTR costs an additional $8,500, but it does feature the iconic Bayside Blue paint job, white stripes, and a number of visual upgrades. The 2020 GT-R Track Edition costs about $147,235, but it does feature the same 600-horsepower twin-turbo V6 engine which is also from the GT-R Nismo.
The 2020 GT-R Nismo's engine remains the same as the 2019 model. However, the 600-horsepower and 481lb-ft engine are now fitted with new turbochargers which are the same one as those from the GT-R GT3 race machine.
In terms of visual upgrades, the 2020 GT-R Nismo features an all-new carbon fiber fenders, side sills, hood, wing, the truck, and most noticeable of all, its roof. Nissan also made of new material producing technologies in the manufacture of the 2020 GT-R Nismo. This made the car about 66 pounds lighter compared to its direct predecessor.
While still considered as an expensive car, its specs speak for itself. However, it is important that the car costs more compared to a Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the McLaren 570S, both are equally impressive cars in their own rights.
For those who can afford its price tag, the Nissan will start receiving orders for the 2020 GT-R Nismo on July 12. The GT-R Premium and 50th Anniversary editions will hit showrooms on July 25, while the Track Edition will go on sale on August 25.
