Read at your own risk: This article contains spoilers for The Rook.

After two years of preparing for the show, along with the controversies that surrounded the filming processes, the American television series adapted from the novel of the same name, The Rook, has finally arrived. And on June 30, the pilot run has started.

With its thrilling and mysterious plot that centers on Myfanwy Thomas, who wakes up surrounded by dead bodies and with no memory, the show easily obtained its audience and viewers. But while it did not perform as grandiose as the other top-performing series on STARZ, it still obtained enough numbers and ratings to continue the course.

According to TV Line, the pilot episode offered a very mysterious introduction to the whole course of the show. But even so, it did not hinder some critics from noticing that The Rook does not offer a whole new and unique storyline since many shows have already started with this kind of opening. This is why after airing a few episodes, the overall ratings are in full mixture as half of its viewers loved it and the other half does not.

This is only fitting though as The Rook is just about to air its fourth episode. So, things could still turn around for the series’ reception.

But while some individuals attest that it is too early to tell whether the series is indeed a great material, it is still worth noting that the pilot run only offers a total of eight episodes. Hence, once it reaches its next episode, the course of the plot is already halfway through.

In a direct preview made by Meaww, it has been largely hinted that the upcoming episodes will feature new pieces of truths about Myfanwy’s past. But as they try to discover what happened at the Millennium Bridge and Mansel Bank, her agency, Checquy, will attempt to look for a “scapegoat” for the murders that happened.

It is also worth noting that the “old Myfanwy” has left trails and notes for the new Myfanwy. And based on the latest that she obtained, she’s telling herself not to trust anyone. So, it seemingly appears that the new Myfanwy will discreetly search for the actualities of what happened to her and why danger is after her in her ways and paces.

The Rook Season 1 will continue its course on July 21 for the Chapter 4 episode.
