The long wait is finally over as Instinct Season 2 has finally arrived on CBS. After almost a year of waiting and speculating, the historical and critically acclaimed police procedural series has returned on its network for another run. And based on the most recent reception, things are looking well for the show.
Just a few months before the premiere of the show’s second run, a lot of reports have largely publicized how it has been criticized by many people all over the media. But despite having poor ratings, the viewership numbers have shown otherwise.
As it happens, the first parts of the pilot run garnered over 10 million viewers per episode. But unfortunately, the finale lost more than half of its numbers.
Having only 4.5 million viewers in its pilot conclusion, this caused a lot of speculations among the fans and critics that the show might not return for a new season. This is why a lot of people were quite surprised when CBS announced that Instinct Season 2 would happen.
According to Meaww, the second season is set to premiere on June 16 of this year. However, it came as a surprise to the whole fandom when the network failed to premiere the show. As it occurred, Instinct Season 2 arrived on a much later date. But it still did on June 30.
Currently, the show is now two episodes deep and heading towards its third. And based on numbers, the series is displaying a firm 3.5 million in viewership number per episode since the arrival. But while it’s not a very impressive figure, the fans have remained pleased and delighted for its new course.
Just like what is seen on the next episode’s preview, the teaser shows a happy and delighted couple who is about to sell themselves as ideal parents as per Cartermatt. This points to Andy and Dylan’s current movements with their supposed adoption journey as the synopsis hints that there is a “major advancement” in their search.
On another note, Lizzie is also revealed to face her “childhood demons” when a similar case presents itself to the duo. As it appears, a 9-year-old boy goes missing just right before a judge concludes a custody battle case between the parents.
Instinct Season 2 Episode 3 titled, Finders Keepers, is set to air on July 14, on CBS.
