Love Island Season 5 is about to come to an end as the show is now on its penultimate week. So in Episode 43, fans should expect to see a more intense turn of events and the continuation of heavy drama, especially with the possible separation of Joanna Chimonides and Michael Griffiths.
The Sunday episode ended with a major cliffhanger as both Joanna and Michael are facing possible eviction. After Caroline Flack dropped the most brutal dumping, she asked the islanders to boot out the couple with the lowest public votes.
According to Metro News, the housemates picked two pairs: Joanna and Michael and Anna Vakili and Jordan Hames. Anna and Jordan were chosen to get out of the villa, but Caroline revealed Joanna and Michael couldn't stay either as a couple.
"You haven't been saved by the public or your fellow islanders," Caroline said. "You cannot stay on Love Island as a couple."
Caroline asked one of them to leave the island, and then the show ended. Does it mean Joanna and Michael will be separated? What will happen from here is going to be seen in Love Island Season 5 Episode 43.
As expected, fans didn't like the shocking twist and aired their sentiments on social media, via Express. One follower said he couldn't believe the producers let it happened. "I have been reeled in hook line and bloody sinker #LoveIsland," he said.
Another one revealed he felt his blood pressure went high after seeing Love Island Season 5 Episode 42. Some even complained of the cliffhanger and how brutal it was, while there's this one who knew there would be a plot twist coming.
As Joanna and Michael's future remains up in the air in Love Island Season 5 Episode 43, some fans accuse the show of changing its rules to keep Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard in the villa. The Independent noted the two are the "most controversial" contenders in the series, and ITV2 is allegedly doing everything to let them stay as long as possible.
After the recoupling that happened on Thursday, when the newcomer Francesca Allen picked Curtis although Maura likes him, it was revealed a couple needed to leave the villa. However, Francesca and Chris Taylor, who Maura was forced to choose, were exempted from the eviction, along with their respective partners.
So, fans found the decision to exempt them in favor of the network, knowing Maura and Curtis generate more talks that seem to be questionable for others. Things are getting pretty intense this season, so fans should wait and see what will happen on Love Island Season 5 Episode 43 this Monday, July 15, on ITV2.
