After the back-to-back premiere episodes, Tess (Ella Purnell) returns to meet a new handsome guest in "Last of the Season." Is this the best time for Tess to have a relationship?

"Maddie Glover [Sandra Bernhard], the restaurant's head chef, returns for a surprise menu tasting," Sweetbitter Season 2 Episode 3 official synopsis read. "Tess connects with a handsome guest; Will [Evan Jonigkeit] receives a surprising offer."

Tess has already proved that she is ready to face even the toughest part of the culinary world in New York City in Episode 1, "The Pork Special." However, the show remained to answer the longstanding questions about Tess' personality.

Fans wanted to know where Tess comes from and who is her biological family. So in Episode 2, "Equifax & Experian," it finally answered these queries, giving fans a glimpse of her backstory.

In Sweetbitter Season 2 Episode 3, fans will continuously feel Tess is not the naive girl who started working in a restaurant in the Big Apple anymore. Although she is still curious and hungry for knowledge, her eagerness to learn teaches her to discover her ability. She has this power that when she uses too much, there are consequences that she has to pay.

Tess seems to have no family at all, but the people she works with, from the backwaiters to servers to bartenders to dishwashers and even the general manager, have become her family. As Tess continues her life journey, what will happen to her in the continuation of Sweetbitter Season 2?

Purnell told Collider the new season would deviate from Stephanie Danler's book with the same title, on which the show is based. Here, she would show the things she has done and prove she got the stripes. However, what happens from here will be a big mystery.

As the second season will be different from the book, the 22-year-old star admitted she has no idea what would happen to Tess. There would be a "huge plethora of experience" waiting for her. The stakes today will never be about her job and the restaurant, but more about herself and her character.

The new season's theme is power, and fans are about to see everyone's life, from their background and history, aside from Tess. Sweetbitter Season 2 Episode 3, "Last of the Season," will be out on Sunday, July 21, on Starz.
