Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) seem to be happy in North Carolina, but it looks like things are about to change in Outlander Season 5. New set photos suggest Claire seems to time travel once again and return to the future.
In the new snaps Evening Times revealed, Balfe was seen wearing her signature blow-dried hair, which is a famous look of women from the 1960s. She also sported a cream trench coat similar to the ones that Claire donned in her Season 3 scenes when she was in the future.
To add fuel to the fire, Balfe was also driving a vintage American car, suggesting she indeed traveled back in time in Outlander Season 5. Balfe's look in the production was far from Claire's style in the previous season.

However, there are also assumptions that this scene is only a flashback into the time when Claire and Jaime were still apart. Express predicted there might be more drama between the fan-favorite couple in the coming season after Season 4 focused mostly on Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and Roger (Richard Rankin).
For the first time, Claire and Jaime's relationship was not thrown with a big problem in the previous season. It was a far cry from their romance in Season 1, which also lessened their love scenes, which fans were clamoring to see. So, do the latest photos suggest they will be apart again in Outlander Season 5?
In the previous season, Brianna traveled back in time to look for Claire. She then met her birth father for the first time and was reunited with Roger. As things went well for the young couple, except for the part that she was raped by Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speleers), the new season might introduce new conflicts.
Meanwhile, Metro News reported Outlander author Diana Gabaldon teased her plans to make a new spinoff series based on Master Raymond (Dominique Pinon). The next novel is going to explore the backstory of Raymond, who fans last saw escaping Paris to flee his execution in Season 2.
Raymond is the direct time-traveling ancestor to Claire, so she may still be seen in the series. However, in a FAQ section of Gabaldon's website, she said Claire, Jaime, and Geillis (Lotte Verbeek) would only play as secondary characters.
To recall, Geillis mentioned something about meeting "one other" time traveler in Voyager, but she didn't tell Claire who it was. "Heaven knows just when we'll get to that - in about ten years, at this rate - but we will get to it," she said. So far, they are now busy at work for Outlander Season 5, which may be out later this year on Starz.
