If BLINKs are wondering what BLACKPINK will be up to after completing the last of their schedules for the Your Area World Tour in Bangkok, here's a piece of good news. They may be working on a new series, and they've flown off to Hawaii to film summer adventures in the island.
According to a report by Hawaii News Now, BLACKPINK members Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rose have been spotted in different parts of the island to film their series entitled BLACKPINK Summer Diary: In Hawaii.
New York-based broadcaster Mike Adam was the first to catch wind of the series and tweeted what he knew about the project. In his post, Adam described BLACKPINK Summer Diary: In Hawaii as a show that will follow the members as they embark on many fun adventures on the island. The series is expected to release in August, but it is still unsure what platform it will be a web series or an actual TV show. BLINKs were also quick to confirm that BLACKPINK members Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rose were in Hawaii and they have been spotted swimming with the dolphins.
While the girls take a break from the concert scene, it is expected that they will return to their Your Area World Tour sometime in December to perform in Japan's major stadiums. Japanese fans have maintained solid support for BLACKPINK and are known to be very supportive of Kpop artists who have staged concerts in the country.
BLACKPINK's fellow YG artists WINNER is currently staging their Japan tour and is slated to perform in Nakano, Nagoya, Tokyo, Kyoto and Shizuoka arenas from July to September.
According to the tentative concert schedule for BLACKPINK, Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rose will perform at the Tokyo Dome on December 4, the Kyocera Dome in Osaka on January 4 and 5, 2020, as well as the Fukuoka Yahoo Auction Dome on February 22, 2020. It is unsure whether YG Entertainment will extend the concert tour further after the Japanese leg of the shows.
Tokyo Dome is one of the most ambitious venues in Japan as it carries a seating capacity of 55,000 fans. The Kyocera Dome in Osaka can also accommodate 55,000 fans at a time. The Fukuoka Yahoo Auction Dome hosts 47,500 fans at a time. BLACKPINK will have their work cut out for them because only six Kpop acts have managed to fill the Tokyo Dome before. Fellow YG artists BIG BANG, BTS, TWICE, TVXQ, EXO and Girls' Generation.
