When A Discovery of Witches premiered on Sky One, it easily garnered a strong viewership number. Quite obviously, the whole fandom of Deborah Harkness’ All Souls is one of the main contributors to the show’s success. Added with the show’s impressive cast and production, it is not surprising as to why it has become a massive success.
For UK fans, it has been almost a year ever since the pilot run has started as it arrived on September 14, 2018. But as for the US fans, it is only in April of this year when the adapted series aired on AMC and BBC America. Even so, the whole fandom of the series has been wondering the same thing, and that is if there will be a new season of A Discovery of Witches.
Fortunately for both sets of the fans, the show has been renewed for two more seasons. As per Pop Sugar, Sky One has commissioned two new seasons for the show. This is only fitting as All Souls is comprised of three books. So, naturally, the two newly commissioned seasons will follow the second and third novel of the book series titled, Shadow of Night and Book of Life, respectively.
While the renewal decision has been confirmed already, there is only a little information shared about the details of the series. For all the fans know is that it will not deviate from the books just like the show has done for its pilot run.
According to Digital Spy, A Discovery of Witches had become a massive hit when it premiered. With its compelling and impressive course, the show easily obtained two million viewers per episode. And as it happened, it is now perceived as Sky One's most popular drama of the year. Accordingly, the two new seasons are surely now some of the most awaited installments.
Sadly though, the release dates are not yet revealed. Even the production schedules are not yet disclosed. So, fans would need to wait a little longer. Even so, there are hints already that the new season of A Discovery of Witches might arrive in between 2019 and 2020.
But it is still worth noting that the premiere date might not be the same for the UK and US audience. So, it is expected that the release will be set on a much later date for the US fans.
