Read at your own risk: This article may contain spoilers for The Handmaid's Tale Season 3.
After almost a year of waiting, The Handmaid's Tale Season 3 has finally arrived on June 5, on Hulu. And with a total of 13 episodes in its course, the show is now headed to its third season finale.
But unlike the show's previous seasons which garnered a massive success, the current season is receiving a lot of critics from its fans and reviewers. Not only that the show has fully deviated from the novel of the same title, but the current plot seems to offer a very eyebrow-raising path as per reports.
According to Vox, the most recent episode titled, Unfit, is the "worst" installment "yet." And based on the critics from the publication, there are a lot of issues that need tackling, especially racism. It has also been pointed out that this issue became apparent even during the pilot run to which the production responded to wait for the succeeding seasons.
But sadly, the second and third seasons did not fully meet the satisfaction of the critics about the matter. And as it appears, it seems that things are becoming way more uninteresting for The Handmaid's Tale Season 3.
Aside from the latest episode, The A.V. Club pointed out that the previous episodes of the season are the ones at fault, especially the Heroic installment that aired a few weeks ago. The publication further contended that it could have been better handled. But even so, they still highlighted how the episode still provided impressive remarks in terms of the dialogue, setting, and acting.
With all of these things at hand, a lot of the fans are now wondering if this is the reason why The Handmaid's Tale Season 3 was not nominated at the Emmy's. As per Heavy, the show was not nominated this year.
While some critics and fans are naturally speculating that this is due to the show's current plot and course, it has been revealed that a series had to air on a date between May 1 and May 31 of this year to get a nomination. But since the show entered Hulu on a month later due to "quality" assurance, The Handmaid's Tale Season 3 did not make it to the list.
As of the time being, there are now four episodes left in the show's course. So, things will surely become more intense and intriguing for everyone, especially for June.
The Handmaid's Tale Season 3 Episode 10 is set to air on July 24, on Hulu.
