After a long wait, fans will finally see Rocko's Modern Life back on the small screen. The animated series will be finally revived and hit Netflix next month.

The television special will bear the title Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling. Netflix has dropped the show's release date, along with a new trailer that teases what fans are about to see.

Things will surely be new in the eyes as viewers are about to see Rocko in HD. The "Australian immigrant wallaby" will be joined by Heffer Wolfe, the fat excited steer, and Filburt, the neurotic turtle who always feels disturbed and uncomfortable, per LADBible.

After spending 20 years in space, Rocko and his friends will return to the late 2010 era of O-Town in Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling. Here, they will be welcomed by modern life, from touchscreen phones, radioactive energy drinks, food trucks, and coffee shops.

Unlike Heffer and Filburt, Rocko doesn't like the 21st century modernity. He even learns an instant-print kiosk replaces already replaced Kind-of-a-Lot-O-Comics, where he works.

So, he tries to get his favorite television show back on the air. From here, Rocko becomes an instant celebrity after he succeeds with his plan.

Nickelodeon earlier announced it would revive Rocko's Modern Life in the form of a TV movie. However, three years have passed; no ill-mannered wallaby graced the television screen.

Although the animated series ended in 1996, it is still one of the most beloved NickToons from the cable network's heyday. Hence, fans have been waiting for the release of the TV movie, although to no avail.

But thanks to Netflix, the wait will be finally over. According to SlashFilm, Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling was previously due for release in 2018. But as the year came and went, there was no Rocko, Spunky, Heffy, or Filburt seen on TV.

Now, everything is set to be out in August. Its original creator, Joe Murray, will still helm the TV special. There are hopes writers, Doug Lawrence and Martin Olson, including Murray himself, will inject the same style and humor in the revival that made the original series loved by the many.

Aside from Murray, Carlos Alazraqui, Tom Kenny, Charlie Adler, Mr Lawrence, Jill Talley, Linda Wallem, Steve Little, Cosmo Segurson, Tom Smith, and Dan Becker will provide voices for Rocko and the gang. Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling will be out on Friday, Aug. 9, on Netflix.
