The premise of Frozen 2 is still a mystery although the first full trailer for the highly anticipated sequel has teased on Queen Elsa and Princess Anna of Arendelle setting off on a journey. Interestingly, the teaser suggests that women need to revisit their past to save the future of their kingdom. But is there a secret mission that has not yet been revealed? Will the second Frozen movie confirm that their parents are still very much alive and in need to be rescued?

In the first film, Elsa became the Queen of Arendelle after her parents died when their ship encountered a storm while at sea. The death of the King and Queen of Arendelle has since been accepted by both sisters and viewers of the 2013 animated flick. On the other hand, there are theories suggesting that the King and Queen may have survived. This could mean that Elsa's true mission in Frozen 2 is to find their parents and bring them back to the kingdom.

Not surprisingly, fans are pointing to several scenes in the sequel's trailer as clues to Elsa and Anna's parents' survival. The opening scene shows Elsa trying to use her powers to seemingly conquer the ocean, but some believe that she is trying to reach out to the supernatural spirits in the waters. Her brief encounter with the Water-Horse teases this. Is it possible that Elsa is looking for Nokk in case he knows what happened to her parents on that stormy night?

In Norwegian lore, Nokk the Water Horse is a malevolent spirit that lures people to their deaths. However, the Water Horse that appeared in the Frozen 2 trailer seems to be a friendly entity who is trying to help Elsa. There is a possibility that the Water Horse could communicate with Elsa and ultimately bring her to her parents.

Another possible clue is Pabbie's urgent message for Elsa. In the trailer, he tells her that "the past is not what it seems" and that she "must find the truth" somewhere "across the Northern lands." Some believe that Pabbie is referring to the place where the King and Queen of Arendelle had gone or have ended up in when their ship was capsized.

Did the King and Queen of Arendelle survive in the first movie? Will Queen Elsa and Princess Anna succeed in finding their parents? The truth will be revealed when Frozen 2 hits theaters on November 22.
