Keanu Reeves is one of the main reasons why the upcoming title Cyberpunk 2077 became a hit long before its scheduled release next year. His surprising presence and his announcement of the futuristic RPG title during the E3 rocked the Internet and was worldwide trending news on Twitter. Reeves is just an NPC in the game but, had Hideo Kojima chosen him over Mads Mikkelsen, the gaming world would have savored that moment to be able to play as the Keanu Reeves, the main protagonist in the game.

Hideo Kojima, the iconic name behind the successful game "Metal Gear Solid, " revealed that Keanu Reeves was almost in the upcoming PS4 exclusive game "Death Stranding." The legendary game director revealed this during the special panel at the San Diego Comic Con. According to Kojima, it came to a point where he has to decide whether to have Reeves or Mikkelsen in the highly-anticipated game.

It appears that Hideo Kojima was asked to put Keanu Reeves in "Death Stranding," but the legendary game director wanted Mads. The actor is also extremely talented, and more importantly, he is Kojima's good friend. But, everybody loves Keanu Reeves, and given his fame, he could contribute to the popularity of the highly anticipated game.

But, we could not question the choice of the game director, which obviously has someone else in mind when he was developing or conceptualizing "Death Stranding." It is unclear who recommended Keanu Reeves to Kojima or whether he was really seriously considered for the role that Mads Mikkelsen currently have. It is safe to assume that the game director was referring to someone at PlayStation or a collaborator.

Given Mads Mikkelsen's fame and acting ability and his talent, surely, he does not come cheap. But, getting Keanu Reeves to reprise the role of the main protagonist in "Death Stranding" could cause a fortune. This could also be one of the reasons why he was given the NPC role in "Cyberpunk 2077. "

Regardless of his professional fee, PlayStation could certainly afford it. "Death Stranding" is one of the most anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusive titles that has been in the works for the past couple of years. Fans have been trickled with details during its development.

But, there is a lot to see and discover in the game as Hideo Kojima recently revealed that he is still creating it despite its looming release. "Death Stranding" is scheduled to release on November 8 with rumors claiming that the game will also be playable to the next generation gaming console, the PlayStation 5.
