HBO is doing everything to keep Game of Thrones Prequel details under wraps. However, just like the original show, the network can't help fans from leaking set photos and other spoilers, including a new theory about Naomi Watts' character.
Watts will reportedly play the role of a "charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret." Some fans believe she will play the role of a Lannister. But, it looks like there is a more appropriate role for the 50-year-old actress that fits the show's timeline, the Age of Heroes.
George R.R. Martin earlier said there would be no Lannisters in the first part of Game of Thrones Prequel. As this time, the Casterlys, the original inhabitants of Casterly Rock, would be introduced. Hence, a Reddit user, via Metro News, revealed a theory that Watts might be playing a role from the mythology of Martin's books named Florys the Fox.
Florys the Fox is said to be the daughter of Garth Greenhand and the cleverest of all. She reportedly has three husbands, and each one doesn't know that there are other two men in her life.
She also has three sons that became the founders of House Florent, House Ball, and House Peake. Lann the Clever was claimed to be the bastard born of Florys or her sister, Rowan Gold-Tree. Lann was said to be the man who outwitted the House Casterly founder to own the homestead and built House Lannister.
Recently, Watts' photos from the set of Game of Thrones Prequel emerged online. At the time, she was in character, wearing a costume of a long golden gown and a hair style in almost "beehive" fashion, per Express.
She was also ushered by two staff, presumably from the show's crew. There was also a huge "Grotta del Turco" sign behind them, where the spinoff series would also be set, aside from Belfast.
Aside from Watts, eagle-eyed fans also caught a glimpse of some Stark family members. Martin has said the family would be a big part of Game of Thrones Prequel, so it is likely that they would be in production.
The dozen of bearded guys saw in the port of Gaeta in Italy were aboard wooden boats. The craft had a flag, which believed to be a Stark sigil, but it was different from the family's seal that fans used to see.
Some fans claimed it looked more of a dragon or a panther than the wolf that symbolized the House Stark. If it is indeed from the Starks, then it could be fans' first glimpse to the early life of the fan-favorite family in Game of Thrones Prequel.
