Fans will once again see Sam (Keir Gilchrist), a teenager who's on the autistic spectrum and who is obsessed with penguins, in Atypical Season 3. Netflix renewed the show for another season to continue a different tale that tackles the fun, joy, and hardships of family life. As he is now ready to embark his new journey in college life, what will happen to Sam and his sister, Casey (Brigette Lundy-Paine) in the new season?
The upcoming installment is expected to explore Casey's storyline as she continues to fight her romantic feelings for Izzie (Fivel Stewart). Casey is confused about her adoration for her new school friend, knowing that she has a boyfriend - Evan (Graham Rogers).
Will Casey break up with Evan in Atypical Season 3? Casey may just pretend her almost-kiss with Izzie never happened and forget her feelings for her. But, it is also possible her romantic life may drastically change when the new season begins, per RadioTimes.
Fans will also see Sam adapting to his new university life in Atypical Season 3. After his therapist, Julia (Amy Okuda), encouraged her to apply to a university, he managed to win a place on Denton University's Scientific Illustration course. What will happen from here will be played out in the new season.
Meanwhile, fans are about to see new faces joining Atypical Season 3. The Talk star Sara Gilbert will be joining the series as Professor Judd. Eric McCormack will also make his way to the show as another professor named Shinerock, who will be teaching art subject.
Of course, as expected, original cast members will return to reprise their roles in the new season. Jennifer Jason Leigh (Elsa), Michael Rapaport (Doug), Nik Dodani (Zahid), Rogers (Evan), Lundy-Paine (Casey), and Gilchrist (Sam) will be once again seen to lead the series.
Netflix has yet to announce when Atypical Season 3 will be out, but it is confirmed to be due for release in fall 2019. Leigh even confirmed the claim earlier this year.
According to What's on Netflix, as the show's new season is usually out a year and a month later, the third installment may arrive either in September or October. Netflix's official page has no clues about it either as it simply announced the new season is coming. So, expect Atypical Season 3 will have 10 episodes again that will be about 30 minutes long, tackling the life of Sam and his family.
