Microsoft is redesigning the Xbox One, but for that, there are consequences-the virtual assistant Cortana has been removed from the design, according to CNET. Users will have to use the Xbox Skill for Cortana through the Cortana app for the iOS< Android, or Windows, instead of using Cortana to talk to other players through their headset.

The change came at a time when the company made clear its next moves. It says that it is moving away from "console experiences" to focus instead on cloud-based assistant experiences, signifying their pivot toward more cloud-based interaction.

The update should concern Alpha Skip Ahead members, who are insiders into the Xbox program. But the Cortana removal will roll out to everyone this fall. It is worth noting that new changes will also disable dictation to the virtual keyboard on the Xbox One, until final notice.

The user interface updates also added an experimental Home screen where Twists are replaceable with buttons to start games. More users will have room to review their recently played titles as well as more freedom to move into the Game Pass, Mixer, and the Xbox Community and the Microsoft Store.

Even more redesigns are in store for the Xbox One, who have been dealing with countless redesigns just to keep its console business in the loop. In contrast, Sony and Nintendo haven't done anything to change their designs, according to Forbes.

It is still puzzling why Microsoft just can't seem to move away from tweaking the design of the Xbox interface. As it stands, the new interface displays a tiny logo for the ads, while each ad is twice the size of the game tiles above them. It doesn't make sense unless the developers have been ordered to focus more on revenue than the gaming experience.

Microsoft is still on the search for a dashboard of the Xbox to satisfy its fanbase. Only a year until Xbox Scarlett, the alleged successor to the Xbox One, and this is what they are coming up with. Analysts have doubted whether this will be the last redesign for the Xbox One interface.

It was also earlier this year that the Xbox Scarlett was reported heavily on and revealed to have no disc slot. It was said to have been the size of the Xbox One S, and cheaper than other similar models on the market. Microsoft was asked to comment on the matter but they have yet to respond.
