In a rare move, Kensington Palace has come out with an official statement to say that the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, does not use Botox. Following a claim from a plastic surgeon that he gives her "baby Botox," a spokesperson from Kensington spoke up to shut down the doctor.
According to Page Six, Kensington Palace sent a statement underscoring that the plastic surgeon's claims are "categorically not true." The spokesperson also said that it's not like the Royal Family to commercially endorse a product or personality.
Dr. Munir Somji posted (and then later deleted) on his Instagram that the Duchess frequents his clinic to get baby Botox. He had a before and after photo of Kate to show how the procedure has diminished her wrinkles.
Baby Botox is a more subtle Botox procedure that gives the face a more natural result. Regular Botox tends to deliver a more frozen look. Thus, it's more obvious to people.
The doctor's Medi Spa Clinic is located some 10 minutes away from Cambridge's home. However, a further check from Page Six revealed that the clinic has non-disclosure agreements with their high-end clients and marketing manager Sammy Curry said they could not comment on the matter. Curry also defended Dr. Somji's Instagram post.
"He just wanted to show the transformation that it can create and obviously how it can be used for subtle results and how it's really good for anti-aging," she told the news outlet.
In February, Kate's makeup artist Arabella Preston reportedly shared that she uses Biotulin for her skin. This is an anti-wrinkle gel that has "local anesthetics which freezes her face muscles and dissolves wrinkles."
Biotulin is an alternative to Botox. However, it comes in lotion form, so there is no need for invasive needle injections.
While the palace has issued a denial regarding Kate's cosmetic procedure, she has nonetheless inspired many women to seek plastic surgery enhancements, especially for rhinoplasty or nose job. According to People, women have been asking British plastic surgeons to give them Kate's nose. They admire this particular facial feature because it is straight and perfectly rounded at the tips.
Women also see that Kate looks happy and confident in her appearance. The wife of Prince William also looks very appealing in her photos, which is why a lot of women have been inspired to follow or copy her looks.
