Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo fans were stunned after the Descendants of the Sun star announced their plan to end their marriage. The Song-Song couple had kept details of their relationship as private as possible despite them being two of the most followed personalities in South Korea. While a number of supporters continue to ship for them, Joong Ki and Hye Kyo have made their divorce official recently.

Business Times, previously, confirmed that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo's divorce had been finalized a few weeks since the shocking announcement. The split was finalized at a family court in Seoul City on Monday, July 22. Reports have it that Joong Ki and Hye Kyo settled their divorce in a closed-door hearing that lasted for, approximately, 20 minutes.

Initially, Song Hye Kyo's agency revealed that the Encounter actress was not informed about Song Joong Ki's decision to end their marriage. The United Artists Agency, however, revealed that "irreconcilable differences" was the primary reason behind the infamous split. The South Korean law allows a separation sans a trial under the condition of mutual consent.

It was, also, revealed that the Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo divorce did not include division of assets and properties despite previous reports claiming that the two Hallyu superstars are likely to split their possessions as well. The Descendants of the Sun lead stars tied the knot on Oct. 31, 2019, in Shilla Hotel in Seoul City, South Korea.

Meanwhile, recent reports suggested that Song Hye Kyo is taking legal actions against those who continue to spread baseless and fabricated rumors and hateful remarks online. UAA, which is the official talent management agency of Song Joong Ki's ex-wife, confirmed the news and released a statement regarding the matter.

"(We) filed our first complaint at the Bundang Police Station for the people we completed gathering evidence against with regards to malicious and slanderous behaviour, the spread of false rumours and explicit insults. The agency will file a complaint for all of the other communities, comments, and YouTubers as soon as we secure the evidence," a part of UAA's official statement regarding the malicious reports involving Song Hye Kyo and her now-ex-husband, Song Joong Ki, read. "(People) are continuing to create and spread groundless posts, malicious insults and other unimaginable things about actress Song Hye Kyo. This has not only crossed the line of being socially acceptable, but it is also causing (Song Hye Kyo) unbearable pain," the agency went on.

Furthermore, Song Hye Kyo is said to take a break from the limelight following the finalization of her divorce from Song Joong Ki. As a matter of fact, in an interview with the Hong Kong Tatler, the 37-year-old South Korean actress shared that she would not be working this year to focus more on self-care and personal time.

"This year, I will take some personal time off," Hye Kyo told the publication. "I need to have some time for myself. Apart from events like these, I will take it easy," she added. In other words, Joong Ki's former ladylove would not be filming anything until the year ends. She, however, is expected to have a huge comeback next year.
