ITV is now airing a repeat of Vera after Beecham House ended, leading to the questions when Vera Season 10 will be out? The show has defied the odds of having long seasons in Great Britain as it is about to drop its tenth season, but how long the wait will be?
Great Britain has this tradition not to air shows for a long period, but Vera is an exception. Aside from being on air for nine seasons and the release of the 10th installment, the show may stay for a little more while on air.
It can't be denied that fans have shown great interest on the cast and Vera Stanhope's (Brenda Blethyn) character and storyline in the series. According to CarterMatt, ITV's move to only feature a few episodes a year helps to retain fans' interest on the show. Hence, they are clamoring for more. Compared to the United States that has shows that go longer than 20 episodes, it is easier to keep up on Vera.
Although it will still take a long while before Vera Season 10 hits the small screens, the show is now in production and everyone is preparing for their return. In the show's official account on Twitter, it revealed filming is now halfway through.
The production is expected to wrap up in the fall. From here, people behind the show will go into the editing process, and the promotion will begin.
Of course, Stanhope will return to Vera Season 10 to continue solving more murder cases. Once again, fans are about to see Blethyn donning her iconic mac and old hat as she is going to reprise her role as the female police detective in Northumberland.
"Along with the rest of the cast of Vera, I'm delighted to be embarking on series 10," Blethyn said about Vera Season 10, via iNews. She continued to say the warmth and enthusiasm fans have shown for the series has been incredibly overwhelming, so they couldn't wait to begin their work.
Kenny Doughty, Jon Morrison, Riley Jones, Ibinabo Jack, and Paul Kaye will all return to reprise their roles as Aiden Healy, Kenny Lockhart, Mark Edwards, Jacqueline Williams, and Malcolm Donahue, respectively. ITV confirmed Vera Season 10 would have four feature-length episodes.
It would be set in and around Newcastle, and the production started in April. So, Vera Season 10 is expected to be out in 2020 on ITV.
