BLACKPINK is set to return to the a-nation Japanese music festival this year. On August 17, Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose are expected to join Japan's top artists in performing for thousands of fans at the Yanmar Nagai Stadium in Osaka.

This will not be BLACKPINK's first time to join the a-nation music festival as they have also been invited to join the line up in 2017. It can be recalled that Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose previously lit up the stage of Tokyo's Ajinomoto Stadium with a mash-up performance of Boombayah and Playing With Fire.

This time around, BLACKPINK will bring down the house with performances of their new songs DDU DU DDU DU and Kill This Love, which has swept the world by storm. Japanese BLINKs will no doubt be more pumped up considering that these hits have Japanese versions.

It can be recalled that in 2017, BLACKPINK performed the Japanese versions of Boombayah and Playing With Fire so it is likely that for this year's appearance, they will also be choosing from the Japanese versions of their hits.

Fans will also be treated to a more seasoned performance from BLACKPINK, who has conquered sold-out stadiums in North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia for their Your Area World Tour. The YG Entertainment artists also performed for the first time in the Coachella Music Festival this year, bringing the world's attention to the fresh Hallyu wave brought on by third-gen Kpop idols.

For this year's a-nation festival, BLACKPINK joins a-nation vets TVXQ who will be headlining the performances on August 18th on the same venue. The duo of Yunho (U-Know) and Max Changmin are a fan favorite act in the music festival. This is their fifth time to headline a-nation, All Kpop reported.

Kpop acts are regularly invited to perform for the a-nation annual summer festival due to strong support from music fans. Apart from TVXQ and BLACKPINK, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, EXO, BoA, Red Velvet and NCT 127 have successfully headlined the music festival. This year's festival at Yanmar Nagai Stadium has a total seating capacity of 50,000, but more tickets are expected to open up for the two-day event since previous festivals utilize the main field and accommodate standing-room crowds.

This will not be the last time that BLACKPINK will be visiting Japan this year because their last concert for the year is scheduled on December 4 at the Tokyo Dome Arena for the Japanese leg of their Your Area World Tour. They are also expected to perform in Osaka and Fukuoka in January and February, next year.
