WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Euphoria season 1 finale. Read at your own risk.

It has been previously confirmed that Euphoria season 2 is coming back on HBO, starring Zendaya. The series follows a group of teens in California as good and bad events happened in their lives connect them. For now, here's what we know so far about the upcoming installment, including its possible release date, cast, plot, and other details.

In early July 2019, Euphoria has been renewed for a second season, and current showrunner Sam Levinson is expected to come back in the upcoming installment. Right now, the release date of Euphoria season 2 was not yet revealed, but the first season premiered on June 16, 2019, so it's safe to assume the series will return around the same month in 2020.

Zendaya plays the role of Rue in Euphoria, a recovering drug addict who's living somewhere in California suburbs. Her fellow students at the East Highland high school include Jules (Hunter Schafer), a new student and a risk-taker and loves hard despite traumatic past; and Nate (Jacob Elordi), a football player whose rage against the world and women simmers beneath the surface;

Other characters include Maddy (Alexa Demie), Nate's girlfriend and the one of the most popular girls in the school; Cassie (Sydney Sweeney), Maddy's friend who wants to be appreciated and recognized from what she is rather than what she looks like; and Kat (Barbie Ferreira), a body-conscious teenager who's exploring her sexuality. All of them are expected to return in Euphoria season 2.

The plot of Euphoria season 2 remains unknown as well, but season 1 finale left many questions that needed to be answered. Perhaps, the biggest concern here was Rue's health, as she relapsed at the end of the season after she refused to get onto the train with Jules to escape their suburban lives.

In the final moments in season 1, a dreamlike music video appears which likely hints that Rue overdosed for the second time - and she could die. Euphoria season 2 also needs to deal with Nate who suffered from an emotional and mental breakdown following the winter formal in season 1final. He also broke up with Maddy - who has evidence against his father.

Cassie, on the other hand, had an abortion before the winter formal as she's pregnant with her college boyfriend McKay's (Algee Smith) baby. Lastly, drop out drug dealer Fez might be killed for the robbery he committed to repaying his supplier.
