WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Elementary season 7 episode 12. Read at your own risk.

Elementary season 7 episode 12 recently aired and it seems like Sherlock Holmes wanted everyone to believe that he is dead. Here's what happened in the episode titled "Reichenbach Falls."

Odin Reichenbach and Sherlock had a violent showdown in Elementary season 7 episode 12, and it looks like the latter wants to fake his death. The episode ended with some gunfire, but no body has been found. Odin has been arrested for his murder, yet he claimed Sherlock would kill him and what he did was only aa self-defense.

Things get a little bit crazy in the closing minutes of the previous episode, as Sherlock emerged and he seemed ready to buy a new place for himself - probably in Italy. The question is, why did he do this? Possibly, he thinks that this is the only way to make sure Odin was brought in for good.

He's going to fake his death so that Odin would be charged for murder, and then he could go away and live a new life elsewhere with a fake identity. However, Odin will surely fight back and will do everything to ensure he's not going to jail, and it's uncertain whether or not Sherlock's plan will work.

Perhaps, the hardest part here is that the closest people to Sherlock felt sad about his "death." They don't know what exactly happened and they don't know he only did that to deceive Odin. Sherlock wanted to get what he could, and he found out that the only way to properly do it is to fake his death. He's willing to sacrifice his life and the people he loved for the sake of greater good.

In another part of Elementary season 7 episode 12, Sherlock dealt with something difficult to digest - the death of his father, Morland Holmes. He was killed in episode 11 amidst a battle between Sherlock and Odin. The latter was responsible for some of what transpired, and the top priority here is revenge.

Meanwhile, episode 13 will be the final episode of the story on CBS, and everything ends here. Aside from Sherlock and Odin, there's also another character that should be in focus: Jamie Moriarty. This character finds herself roped into the endgame of the story, as the investigators received a word from her - their old enemy, who also happens to be Sherlock's former lover.
