In less than two months, A Million Little Things Season 2 will finally drop on ABC. And recently, it has been already revealed the total number of episodes that the new season will get to have.
For fans who are very much entertained and carried away with the series’ premise, this will serve as good news since the series has been requested to increase the number of episodes. In an interview with TV Line, the series creator, DJ Nash, revealed that ABC had requested a total of 22 episodes for A Million Little Things Season 2.
These are five more episodes also since the pilot run had only a total of 17 installments. While 22 is pretty big and lengthy storytelling for the show, DJ Nash admitted that he turned it down.
As per his statements, he primarily thought of following the same number as what they did during the pilot run. But since the whole plot seems to fit an 18-episode season, he instead asked the network for the exact number.
However, it seemingly appears that ABC is quite adamant about increasing the run the length of A Million Little Things Season 2. Accordingly, they all agreed in the end to have a total of 19 episodes for the upcoming season as per DJ Nash.
According to Cartermatt, a much lengthier season may sound too “enticing.” But the show’s series creator does not agree. The reason behind is that too much “flipping cards” may appear as “inauthentic.” And considering that the show is largely built on flipping cards, then an appropriate number of episodes is a must for A Million Little Things.
Whatever the case though, the fans are just waiting for the new season’s arrival. This is why many reports state that the fandom is quite eager to get more details about the incoming episodes and what the new season will offer when it premieres.
Only little has been shared about the show as well as its plot and premise. But as what Good Housekeeping asserts, the second run will pick up where it last left off. And as any fan would recall, this includes the revelation of PJ’s background being a son to Barbara Nelson.
Accordingly, this pretty much points out that he is set to play an integral role for the second run of the show. And while most of the teasers do not largely keep his presence now and then, DJ Nash confirmed that Chandler Riggs, who plays PJ’s character, will have a spotlight for the next course.
A Million Little Things Season 2 is set to arrive on September 26, on ABC.
