The release of Goliath season 3 is long overdue. The show dropped all of the episodes of the second season last June 2018 on the Amazon streaming platform, but it looks like the follow up to the Billy Bob Thornton series is going to be out in early 2020.

According to Screen Rant, the premiere date for Goliath season 3 might be set on the first half of 2020. Like the second season, the show's next installment could be ready for viewing in the late spring.

Viewers, however, expect a lot of more exciting storylines from Goliath season 3 so it's all worth the wait. The show has added new faces to spice up the series.

In December 2018, TV Line confirmed that Dennis Quaid would join Thornton's Billy McBride as a billionaire rancher alongside Amy Brenneman, who will play his sister. Also joining the series are Beau Bridges, Griffin Dunne, Sherilyn Fenn, and Shamier Anderson but their roles have not yet been revealed.

Goliath season 3 will open with the aftermath of the death of Billy's old friend, and he's got new enemies. Billy will try to uncover the truth about his why his friend died, but in doing so, old issues and clashes will crop up aside from the new challenges.

In April, Goliath season 3 added Julia Jones and Leslie Grossman to the cast. Jones role is that of a Hollywood stuntwoman named Stephanie Littlecrow who inherits the property that will become a problem for the corporate farmers in the Central Valley. Grossman, on the other hand, will play Rochelle Purple, a financial advisor.

Amazon renewed the show for a third season in late 2018. Apart from Thorton, also returning are Nina Arianda (as Patty Solis-Papagian), Tania Raymonde (as Brittany Gold), Diana Hopper (as Denise McBride), Ana de le Reguera (as Mirasol Silva) and Julie Brister (as Marva Jefferson).

"I'm thrilled to be expanding my relationship with Amazon Studios, on Goliath and beyond," Thornton said in a press release following the news of the renewal. "The entire team has been so supportive, and I look forward to doing more great things together."

Goliath is about an unsuccessful lawyer who wants to get his redemption in a legal system where everything has a price. The show created by David E. Kelley and Jonathan Shapiro debuted on Amazon in February 2017 with eight episodes. The second season also has eight episodes. Both installments are still streaming on the platform.
