Manny Pacquiao's recent victory against Keith Thurman has reinvigorated his possible rematch against Floyd Mayweather. Despite being considered by many analysts as past his prime, Pacquiao turned back the hands of time with his recent dominant performance.

Pacquiao was once again on top of the welterweight contention with his recent win against Thurman. The Filipino's victory has once again revived the possibility of a rematch against Mayweather.

In a statement, Manny Pacquiao Promotions president Sean Gibbons said, "The senator's legacy is rolling and rolling, and that's driving Floyd a little bonkers and mad ever since they fought in 2015."

Despite being already 40-years-old, Pacquiao is still considered as a major threat to Mayweather's legacy. With his recent win, Pacquiao has once again cemented his authority in the welterweight division, and the win essentially served as a taunt for the undefeated Mayweather.

Regarding the possible rematch between Pacquiao and Mayweather, boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard recently said that the rematch "should be done."

Dubbed as one of the most explosive fight of the century, the bout between Pacquiao and Mayweather ended with the latter preserving his undefeated legacy. However, Pacquiao's recent resurgence served as a challenge to Mayweather's legacy. On top of that, Pacquiao had posted an impressive fight resume in the last 13 months. During that timeline, Pacquiao faced some of the top names in the welterweight division. Among them are Adrien Broner, Lucas Matthysse, and most recently Thurman. According to Leonard, Pacquiao and Mayweather can still put a great fight even if they are already in the twilight of their career.

Despite the attention being thrown towards the possible rematch, some analysts have noted that it might be difficult to put together. It is important to note that the first Pacquiao-Mayweather fight took years to push through. The same can be said when it comes to the rematch.

Some analysts have noted that Mayweather will most probably deny the challenge. It is of utmost importance for him to preserve his undefeated legacy, and with Pacquiao seemingly back in his top form, it will most likely challenge that.

Apart from the possible Mayweather rematch, Pacquiao is also looking into a second bout with Thurman. It is important to note here that Pacquiao delivered the only defeat to Thurman's career. Hence, the call for a rematch sounds just as resounding as the possible Mayweather bout.
