Bob Arum, Top Rank chief, predicts that Manny Pacquiao will beat Floyd Mayweather Jr if a rematch takes place. The judges favored the American boxer over the Filipino champ during their money-spinning boxer bout in 2015.
After their fight, many longed to see them back in the ring for a rematch. The boxers exchanged tough words against each other on social media. Last Month, Mayweather watched Pacquiao at the ringside as he ruins the unbeaten record of the American boxer in Las Vegas.
Manny Pacquiao will be the first man to defeat Mayweather if he wins the rematch. According to Arum, the fight makes sense from a business standpoint. He is, however, sure that Pacquiao would ensure there is a different outcome at the second time of asking.
The legendary promoter said that if that fight happens, then it's probably worth it to do because that would be a big, big, big fight. He believed that Manny Pacquiao would win now. He also said that the boxing veteran should consider retiring if the fight with Mayweather does not happen.
He said that the 40-year-old boxer won against Thurman, giving him a big note when he retires. He recommended that this is the time for him to hang up his gloves. He, however, acknowledged that Pacquiao makes his own decisions.
After his fight with Thurman, Pacquiao posted, .@FloydMayweather You come to my fight and then use my name in a post, but I'm the one that is trying to stay relevant? If you want to be relevant again... #MayPac2 in his social media account.
Floyd Mayweather retired from his boxing career after beating Conor McGregor in 2017. In a recent interview, the undefeated American fighter said that only time would tell if the rematch will happen. The boxer is not closing the door for the possibility of the fight with his Filipino rival. Recently, he posted a picture of him landing a punch in Pacquiao's face. He also wrote that he finds it real ironic how every time Pacquiao's name is brought up in the media, his name is always attached to it.
He added that the eight-division champion's entire legacy and career had been built off its association with his name and it's about time you all stop using his brand for clout chasing and clickbait and let Pacquiao's name hold the weight of its own.
He also claimed that for years, all he heard was that "Floyd is afraid of Manny Pacquiao," but he easily beat the Filipino.
